FORMOSA is a Swan 51 which has proved to be one of the best designs ever made
by Swan. Very competitive in its day, it won World and European Championships.
Now almost a classic, it still shows the modern yachts a clean pair of heels.
Formosa has the distinction of being the 1000th Swan produced.
She is a cutter-rigged sloop with twin spinnaker poles but has been modified
for ease of cruising to incorporate a furling Genoa. Fully battened main, slab
reefing and a stack pack.
She is an excellent sea keeping yacht in all weathers, with teak decks and
a solid teak interior with white leather.
A standard galley, navigational fit, CD player with cockpit speakers and two
heads with hot water showers, plus plenty of saloon space, make this an ideal
cruising or corporate racing yacht.
Formosa has proved very popular on the Solent in all major race
events but is also a popular yacht for client entertaining and functions such
as birthday parties, stag and Hen do's.
