Talisman is a versatile one design racer cruiser one of only 25 Prima 38's
in the world, very few of which are available for charter. Her lightweight construction
makes her very fast and she is equally at home either being used for racing or
cruising. She has a deep fin and bulb keel and high aspect ratio and slender rudder
that make her very responsive. She is also very well equipped on deck and below
deck has all the modcons that you would expect, including hot and cold water,
central heating, large fridge, shower, w.c., CD player etc. The living quarters
are spacious and comprise 4 cabins sleeping up to 12 people in race conditions.
Instrumentation

Talisman has Raymarine ST80 instruments. She has 3 displays over the companion
way (2 show wind direction and one is a masterview) and 2 x 20:20 maxi views on
the mast. The navigation station below has a second masterview. There is a Raymarine
autohelm and a dedicated MOB button by the helm. In addition there is a laptop
that can be used to display electronic charts and links into the GPS.
The Rig
Talisman has a fraction carbon fibre rig and spinnaker pole. The spreaders
are swept back and therefore no need for running backstays. There is a full complement
of racing sails, 4 kevlar jibs (105%-75%) and a slab reefing Kevlar main. There
are 3 spinnakers, 2 general purpose (0.6oz and 0.9oz) and one asymmetrical (1.5oz).
Her total sail area upwind is 88sqm and downwind is 129sqm. All control lines
come back to the cockpit and there are 6 lewmar 44 winches. Her TCC rating is
1.087.
On Deck
Talisman has a very large and deep cockpit which can accommodate a large crew
in comfort and there is plenty of room for a crew to easily move around her. There
is a large diameter wheel which gives the helmsman a clear view of the telltales
when seated on the edge of the cockpit. There is a very large locker at the stern
and a smaller one in the centre of the cockpit.
