"Born Slippy 2" is a 38ft Prima One-Design racing yacht, one of the fastest Primas as well as the most often photographed (front cover of Y&Y, Ocean Images and Beken calendars for 2002).

She was launched at the start of the 2000 season with the highest specification of optional extras of any Prima to date - price today on the water with top sails and all the rest of the kit £220k). She has had a refit this spring (2003) at Seaquest and is in excellent condition.

Her IRC2000 handicap this year is 1.087 (a combination of a small age allowance, sails having shrunk since being delivered and being slightly over class minimum weight), which is class 1 for RORC racing and class 2 at Cowes this summer, although we will be racing at the one-design handicap of 1.089 for almost everything. We don't race under IRM as the handicap does not treat Primas fairly. This was definitively proved in 2000 when the boat was part of the Commodore's cup "Europe" team and was consistently 5-7% off the pace on corrected time, in spite of being sailed well (at least some of the time...).
